Before his retirement, Ernest Bruchez had been a partner at the firm since its founding in 1982. He represented major oil companies and independent oil and gas producers in the acquisition and disposition of domestic oil and gas assets. He advised sellers and buyers with respect to transaction structures of proposed acquisitions and dispositions. Mr. Bruchez also supervised oil and gas title review and due diligence efforts in connection with financing, acquisition, and sale transactions.
Mr. Bruchez advised Texas A&M University, non-profit foundations, and bank trust departments in connection with division orders, landowner relations, mineral leasing, and related matters. He represented oil and gas companies, seismic and service companies, pipelines, and landowners in connection with leasing, right-of-way, operating, surface damage, royalty/JIB/payout, and other explorations. In addition, he advised clients and prepared consulting agreements, conveyances, farmouts, operating agreements, division/transfer orders, support agreements, participation agreements, and leases.
